Delhi Dynamos FC announced the signing of former Liverpool and Norway star John Arne Riise for Season 2 of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL).

The 34 year old left back, the most-capped player for the Norwegian national team (110 caps), started his career at Aalesunds FK. He went on to play for AS Monaco, Liverpool FC, AS Roma, Fulham FC and APOEL FC.

He had his most successful time with Premiership side Liverpool where won various titles including the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup besides other silverware.

Riise has represented Norway at all age levels. He retired from international football in 2013.

The Norwegian was expected to join league rivals Kerala Blasters FC as their marquee player, but Delhi Dynamos convinced him to join player-cum-manager Roberto Carlos in the capital city.

Riise is the latest renowned addition by Delhi after the club announced the signing of Frenchman Florent Malouda on Sunday.
