NorthEast United FC arrives in South Africa for pre-season camp

Hero Indian Super League (ISL) side NorthEast United FC have arrived in South Africa for their pre-season camp in Durban from September 1 to 22, 2015.

The team was received at the airport by local media and officials from the South African Football Association (SAFA) on Monday. The reception was warm and wonderful and the squad was also cheered by a large Indian contingent at the airport.

The NorthEast United FC players, coaches and staff attended a dinner hosted by the South African Football Association at the team hotel. Members of the South African Parliament were also present at the dinner.

Today (September 1) the team attended a joint press conference hosted by the South African Football Association, the South African Indoor Football Association and PSL teams, Maritzburg United FC and AmaZulu FC, to flag off the pre-season. NorthEast United will be playing two friendlies against Maritzburg and AmaZulu in the coming days.

The NorthEast United squad was also given a tour of the Moses Mahibda Stadium which hosted 2010 FIFA World Cup matches, while marquee player Simão has linked up with the team.
