Three NorthEast United stars ruled out for remainder of ISL Season 2

NorthEast United FC have confirmed that they will miss the services of three players for the remainder of the Indian Super League (ISL) Season 2.

Portuguese defender Miguel Garcia has suffered a bilateral achilles tendinopathy along with posterior impingement. He picked up the injury in the first game of the season against Kerala Blasters.

Zambian international midfielder Kondwani Mtonga will be out of action due to a tear of the medial meniscus. The injury occured during a practise game against Lansing FC.

Former Ivory Coast and Bundesliga player Boubacar Sanogo is the third player who won’t be able to continue playing in the ISL Season 2. The former Werder Bremen striker suffered a full tear of the quadracep during a training session.

The club will be announcing replacements for the three injured players soon.

Meanwhile, NorthEast United FC’s Marquee Player Simão Sabrosa is undergoing intensive treatment for a lower leg contusion and is expected to return to action within the next few days or so.
