India go down five spots in FIFA World Ranking

The Indian national team has dropped five spots in the latest FIFA World Ranking released today.

India is now ranked 172nd in the world and 33rd in Asia with 122 points, just behind Malaysia and ahead of Mauritius.

Maldives (166th) is the best team from the South Asian (SAFF) region, ahead of India, Bangladesh (180th), Bhutan (180th), Pakistan (185th), Nepal (192nd) and Sri Lanka (194th).

Meanwhile, Belgium top the FIFA World Ranking for the first time in history. Germany (2nd), Argentina (3rd), Portugal (4th) and Chile (5th) complete the Top 5.

The next edition of the FIFA World Ranking will be released on December 3, 2015.
