Exclusive footage by NDTV has revealed that Chennaiyin FC captain Elano was wrongly accused of assaulting FC Goa co-owner Dattaraj Salgaocar after the 2015 Hero Indian Super League (ISL) final. The Brazilian star was arrested after the ISL final which led to a massive controversy.
The NDTV footage shows that the former Brazilian international did nothing wrong and that he was taken into police custody only on the behest of FC Goa owners.
The ISL Regulatory Commission will meet on Tuesday and Wednesday to decide the quantum of punishment, while the exclusive NDTV video will be presented as part of evidence.
