India remain 162nd in FIFA World Ranking

The Indian national football team remain a joined 162nd alongside Guam behind New Zealand and ahead of Tajikistan in the latest FIFA World Ranking released today (May 5). India have 151 points to their name and stay in joint 28th position in the Asian (AFC) rankings.

Afghanistan (147th) remain the best team from South Asia ahead of the Maldives (160th), India, Bangladesh (178th), Nepal (180th), Bhutan (186th), Sri Lanka (187th) and Pakistan (190th).

Laos (176th), India’s opponent 2019 AFC Asian Cup play-offs, made the biggest move by ranks and points (plus 6 ranks / plus 37 points).

Meanwhile, there were no changes to the FIFA World Raking Top 10. Argentina kept the top spot ahead of Belgium (2nd) and Chile (3rd). 2014 FIFA World Cup winners Germany are ranked 5th behind Colombia. Spain (6th), Brazil (7th), Portugal (8th), Uruguay (9th) and England (10th) complete the Top 10.

The next FIFA World Ranking will be published on June 2, 2016.
