India U-19 bow out against Japan U-17 in Friendly Match

The India U-19 national team lost 0-4 against the Japan U-17 national team in a friendly game at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa on June 1, 2016.

Japan took the lead early in the match as they caught the Indian defence napping when a quick combination by the Japanese attack force concluded with a left footed shot which ended up in the back of the Indian net.

Soon after, Namgyal was caught out of position when a whipped in Japanese cross from the right flank was met with a thunderous header by the Japanese striker and gave the visitors a 2-0 lead inside 45 minutes.

After the half-time scoreline read 2-0, Japan made it 3-0 when a one on one situation against the Indian custodian resulted in Japan’s favour.

The Indian colts tried to catch the Japan off-guard but were repelled with ease by the opponent’s defence line. Right before the end of time, Japan added another as the full-time scoreline read 4-0 in Japan’s favour.
