Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum receives dignitaries from the AFC

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group, hosted a high level delegation from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) at Emirates’ headquarters in Dubai on June 23, 2016.

Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa,  Chairman of Asian Football Confederation Disciplinary Committee, and Deputy Chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, led the dignitaries which comprised Pierre Alkekhya, Marketing Consultant of Asian Football Confederation; and Abbas Marzouq Abdulla Chairman Deputy Asian Football Confederation. Joining the meeting was Boutros Boutros, Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President for Corporation Communications, Marketing and Brand.

During the visit, the AFC dignitaries discussed football-related developments in the UAE, GCC and Asia, including the highly-anticipated AFC Asian Cup 2019 which will be hosted by the UAE.

Emirates has been a partner of Asian Football Confederation, the governing body of Asian football, for more than 16 years and has sponsorship rights to all its tournaments, including the AFC Champions League, AFC Cup and the AFC Challenge Cup, as well as a number of women’s and youth events.
