Indian international Mandar Rao Dessai is on his way to Spain to join La Liga side Villarreal CF for a two week training stint.

The 24 year old Dempo SC winger will start his training stint with the 3rd Team Villarreal CF (‘C’) on Monday according to a statement by the Spanish club. The ‘C’ Team is coached by Carlos Perez Salvachúa and they play in the Tercera División, the fourth tier of the Spanish football league system,

“Excited at being offered this opportunity and looking forward to giving my best,” Mandar told via his Instagram profile.

The training stint has been arranged as part of an partnership agreement between Villarreal CF and Indian Super League (ISL) outfit FC Pune City. Mandar was an integral part of FC Goa in the first two ISL season and he is now joining FC Pune City for Season 3 of the ISL.

Villarreal has also announced that more initiatives would be realised in the coming months as part of the new partnership between the Spanish and Indian clubs.

I wish Mandar all the best for his training stint in Spain.
