India U-16 national team defeat MSV Duisburg U-17s 3-0

The 2017 FIFA World Cup bound India U-16 national team defeated German 3rd Division side MSV Duisburg’s U-17 boys 3-0 in Duisburg-Wedau on Sunday, August 21 morning. However the match was called-off in the 60th minute when Reamsochung Aimol suffered a shin injury while going for a sliding tackle. The player was immediately rushed to a local hospital where he is undergoing treatment for his injury.

Despite that, the Indian U-16 team took little time to get off the block and Komal’s tap-in in the 1st minute itself, after he latched onto a Boris cross led the Indian colts to a solitary goal lead.

Although India dominated possession and created chances it was only in the 35th minute that the colts doubled their lead when Aniket dribbled past the onrushing Duisburg keeper, after an exquisite through ball by Amarjit, and blasted the ball home.

Four minutes later, the India U-16 national team took an unassailable 3-0 lead as Aman got on the scoresheet. At half-time, the India went into the tunnel leading 3-0.

The second half was eventless as the Indian U-17 World Cup Squad marched onto an easy 3-0 win over their German opponents.
