Praful Patel appointed AFC Senior Vice President

All India Football Federation (AIFF) President Praful Patel was appointed as the Senior Vice President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) on December 1, 2016.

Patel who was serving as the Vice President of the South East Region for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) thanked all for their support.

“I am grateful & thankful for all the support extended,” Patel tweeted from his official Twitter account @praful_patel.

Under Patel’s tutelage, India won the rights to host the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 and hosted the AFC U-16 Championship in September 2016.

The All India Football Federation had also won the Recognition Award for Grassroots Football in 2014 and has been nominated for the AFC Member Association (Developing) Award for 2016.
