Mohammedan Sporting to host Mohun Bagan in AIFF U-16 Youth League

Mohammedan Sporting Club will be playing their last match in the Kolkata Zonal Round of the ongoing AIFF U-16 Youth League when they host cross city rivals Mohun Bagan AC on Saturday at the Mohammedan Sporting Ground at 14.00 IST.

While Mohammedan SC ease past East Bengal Club 2-0 in their last game on Sunday Mohun Bagan played out a drab draw against United Sports Club.

On paper, Mohammedan SC are third in the table with 15 points, six points behind leaders Mohun Bagan (21 points) and two behind second placed United SC (17 points) and the game on tomnorrow is of big significance for Mohammedan SC as anything less than a win will serve as a big blow to their chances of qualifying for the final round.

However, Mohammedan Sporting filed an official complaint against United SC for fielding an ineligible player (Suraj Rajbanshi) in the Round 1 match and if the decision goes in their favour then they will automatically qualify for the final round regardless of the outcome of the match against Mohun Bagan.
