India jump to best FIFA World Ranking in six years

India moved up two spots in the latest FIFA World Ranking to claim the best ranking in six years. The Indian team is now ranked a joined 135th (22nd in Asia) together with Sudan as both sides hold 217 points.

India remains the best team from the South Asian region ahead of Afghanistan (146th), Maldives (154th), Bhutan (177th), Nepal (181st), Bangladesh (185th), Sri Lanka (195th) and Pakistan (197th).

Argentina (1634 points) end the year on top of the FIFA World Ranking, while Brazil (2nd), Germany (3rd), Chile (4th) and Belgium (5th) complete the Top 5.

The next FIFA World Ranking will be published on January 12, 2017.
