2017 Africa Cup of Nations

Cameroon crowned 2017 Africa Cup of Nations champions

Cameroon have won the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations following a 2-1 win over Egypt in the Final in Libreville, Gabon on Sunday.

Mohamed El Neny opened the score sheet for the Pharaohs in the 22nd minute when the Arsenal midfielder put the ball past Cameroon goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoa.

The Indomitable Lions bounced back through a Nicolas N’Koulou header in the 59th minute, before Besiktas striker Vincent Aboubakar turned the match in Cameroon’s favour with a wonderful volley into the back of the net in the 88th minute.

Cameroon have claimed their first continental trophy after a long gap of 15 years since winning the trophy in 2002 and secured their spot in the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017.
