Indian Women’s national team lose 1-3 against AIFF U-16 Colts

The Indian Women’s National Team currently gearing up for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2018 Qualifiers lost 1-3 against the AIFF U-16 Colts at the Utorda Ground in Goa today (March 22, 2017).

The AIFF U-16 Colts threatened the Indian Women’s Team as early as the 3rd minute when Bekey’s bullet header was saved by the opponent custodian. Little did the colts have to wait and in the 6th minute the Colts took the lead as Basu scored after latching onto a pass from Eric.

The Indian Women’s Team pressed for an equalizer relentlessly but failed to take the most of their chances. In the 33rd minute however, Bala Devi scored from a free-kick to level proceedings.

The AIFF Colts however proved superior to their counterparts scored twice in the second half to rout the Indian Women’s Team, courtesy of a Rohit Danu brace in the 58th and 75th minute.

The Indian Women’s National Team has been draw against DPR Korea, Korea Republic, Uzbekistan and Hong Kong in their AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2018 Qualifying group and play hosts DPR Korea on April 3, 2017 in Pyongyang.
