VfL Wolfsburg open official representative office in Beijing

Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg have opend an official representative office in the Chinese capital Beijing. Volkswagen board representative Prof. Dr. Dr. Jochem Heizmann, former player Zvjezdan Misimovic and Bundesliga Ambassador Wynton Rufer were amongst the 150 high-ranking guests of the inauguration ceremony earlier today.

The representative office, housed in the Audi China Management Center, is intended to serve the purpose of attaining an inter-cultural exchange besides coordinating all club activities in China, including the Wolves efforts in Chinese youth development according to a club release.

“The opening of our representative offices is a further important milestone in the implementation of our internationalisation strategy. VfL Wolfsburg is already established in China and enjoys a high standing. This is confirmed by our ever-growing fan-base in China, as well as out ever-expanding number of Chinese partners,” said VfL Wolfsburg manager Thomas Röttgermann.

Prof. Dr. Jochem Heizmann, Member of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Group, as well as President and CEO of Volkswagen Group China, said: “As part of our CSR strategy, Volkswagen Group China has teamed up with VfL Wolfsburg in diverse youth activities in China. Volkswagen Group China has long been committed to the sustainable development of Chinese youth football, including setting up a broad-based football program in China, to enhance football culture communication between the two countries.”
