Madanpura Grassroots League 2017 organized in Mumbai Central

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) in association with Hero Indian Super League (ISL) club Mumbai City FC and Tipu Sultan Football Academy organised the Madanpura Grassroots League 2017, a community football league played out at YMCA Madanpura, Mumbai Central that kicked-off on January 28, 2017.

Local teams competed in the age groups of Under 10 and Under 12, where they initially played in a league phase, and top teams qualified for the knockouts. 28 teams participated in the league, which saw 305 players play football and 170 goals scored.

Madanpura has been a hot-bed for football talent in the city and to further develop the level of football in this area the Grassroots League was organized. Such was the involvement of the community that on the day of the Final the parents of the children participating in the Final escorted the kids onto the pitch.
