Mohammedan Sporting sign Nigerian defender Richard Agwu Somtochukwu

After securing the signature of I-League’s top scorer Aser Pierrick Dipanda, Mohammedan Sporting Club have acquired the service of Nigerian defender Richard Agwu Somtochukwu for the forthcoming Calcutta Football League.

Richard is a well known footballer in Kolkata maidans, has played for various Calcutta Football League clubs in the past such as Kalighat Milan Sangha, Bhawanipore Club and most recently Southern Samity since his first arrival in India.

Beside playing in Kolkata, The 26-year-old also has the experience of playing in the Second Division League for Mumbai based Kenkre FC.

Speaking at the introduction of the defender, Ghazal uz Zafar, Hony. General Secretary of Mohammedan Sporting Club said, “Richard is known for his intimidating presence on the field. He will have an important role to play and has a lot to offer. I would like to welcome him to the Mohammedan Sporting Club family and wish him all the very best for the season ahead.”

Richard is the second foreign signing done by the 126-year-old club in the summer transfer market.
