FIFA Fitness Course for Referees kicks-off in Gwalior

The FIFA Fitness Course for Referees, organized by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), kicked-off in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh today (June 20, 2017). 110 referees in two batches of 55 are participating in the programme and the course is slated to concluded on June 28, 2017.

Retd. Col. Goutam Kar, Head of Referees Department AIFF, shared his thoughts on the programme and said, “Footballing knowledge is not the only requisite for a good referee. Being match fit is of great importance. In today’s game a good referee must have knowledge of the game, presence of mind and great fitness levels.”

The course will involve yoga sessions, pool sessions as well as psychological sessions. Match situations and nutrition plans are also to be discussed.
