AFC to meet AIFF on Strategic Planning and Player Compensation model

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the All India Football Federation (AIFF) officials will meet on July 4, 2017 to discuss Strategic Planning and Player Compensation matters in regards to Indian football. AFC will be represented by Alex Phillips, who is the Head of Asia-Europe Affairs at UEFA, seconded to AFC and Darren Bailey, an expert and consultant under The Ivy House Sports Consultancy Ltd., nominated by AFC for innovation and implementation of strategic plans in football development.

The meeting will take place to discuss matters on developing and implementing a robust player compensation model for Indian football that would help all stakeholders in the domestic youth development circuit. It would also involve discussion on developing a strategic plan for Indian football based on the present structure for the next four years. The strategic planning involves formulating action plans covering different areas of football management in the country.

Kushal Das, General Secretary, AIFF remarked,”This will be a very important meeting with the AFC officials as it’ll help pave the way for future development plans in the various areas of football operations. It would majorly involve talks on improving the youth development system with the implementation of player compensation model. The discussions will hopefully be productive in identifying the major objectives of taking Indian football to the next level.”
