Mohammedan Sporting Club sign Ogba Kalu Nnanna to complete overseas quota

Mohammedan Sporting Club is delighted to announce the signing of Nigerian midfielder Ogba Kalu Nnanna for the forthcoming Calcutta Football League.

The experienced play-maker joins the Black Panthers after spending the previous season at Southern Samity, and teams up with Aser Pierrick Dipanda and Richard Agwu Somtochukwu to complete the foreigner triad.

Known for his dogged displays in the middle of the park, Kalu can dictate the play both in attack and defense which shall immensely benefit the Biswajit Bhattacharya coached side.

Welcoming Kalu to the 126-year-old club, Hony. General Secretary Jb. Ghazal uz Zafar said: “Kalu comes with a lot of experience that will be very handy for us in the season ahead.”

“We have been keeping an eye on him, and with Southern Samity, he had a positive impact on their performance and we hope he will do even better with our club. We are glad to have him on our side and I wish him the best of luck,” he added.

Kalu began his Indian sojourn in 2007, when he joined Churchill Brothers from Nigeria-based Fadam United FC and helped the Red Machines win the I-League, IFA Shield, Durand Cup and the Goa Professional League once during his stay.

In 2010, Kalu switched his allegiance to Dempo Sports Club, before joining Sporting Clube de Goa next season. Kalu stayed at Sporting for four seasons and finished as the top goal scorer for the Panjim-based club twice in I-League.
