#NamasteFootball: VfL Wolfsburg training camp and meeting Freddie Ljungberg

German Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg kicked-off their second summer training camp ahead of the 2017/2018 Bundesliga season at the Hotel-Residence Klosterpforte in Marienfeld, Germany on Monday.

My colleague Arunava Chaudhuri and I had the opportunity to attend the training camp yesterday and to have a first-hand look at the new squad and their preparations for the new season.

The team had an intense afternoon training session in really tough weather conditions which could be described as a “German monsoon” with heavy rain showers and gusty winds.

Head coach Andries Jonker, his assistant coaches Fredrik Ljungberg and Uwe Speidel and other members of the coaching staff put the squad through the paces in front of 15 to 20 fans who braved the weather in all its forms.

We also catched up with Arsenal and Sweden legend Freddie Ljungberg after the training session for a great chat on VfL Wolfsburg, the Bundesliga, Indian football and of course Freddie’s and Arunava’s time at Indian Super League team Mumbai City FC.
