FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017

Ten-man India U-17s held to a 1-1 draw by Chile U-17s

The India U-17 World Cup Squad played a 1-1 draw against Chile U-17s in their last match of the Torneo de 4 Naciones in Mexico City, Mexico on Sunday (August 6, 2017).

The Indian colts started on a positive note but it was their opponents Chile who took the lead in the 40th minute after a corner kick was fluffed by the Indian defence line as the half-time scoreline read 1-0.

Changing over, Aniket’s shot in the 55th minute came close to equalizing proceedings but it was Nongdamba Naorem’s strike in the 82nd minute that put the teams into level terms. The India U-17 national team pressed for the decisive goal but failed to find any and Aniket was sent off in the 84th minute, as the full-time scoreline read 1-1.
