Kerala Blasters sign former Manchester United star Wes Brown

Kerala Blasters FC have announced the signing of former Manchester United star Wes Brown for the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) season.

“Rene’s own, one of English Premier League’s decorated players; coming to you with tons of experience all the way from England. #NammudeSwantham defender Wes Brown, ladies and gentlemen! ഇനി കളി മാറും,” Kerala Blasters announced on their official social media channels.

“Hello India, Happy Independence Day! I’m coming soon to the exciting Indian Super League to play for Kerala Blasters,” the 37 year old defender tweeted after the official announcement by the Kerala Blasters today.

“I can’t wait to play in front of one of the best fans in the world. Kerala, see you soon,” he added.

Brown spent 13 years with Manchester United and made 362 appearances for the Premiership giants, while winning several trophies including five Premier Leagues, two FA Cups, and two UEFA Champions League titles.

He has also played for Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers, besides representing England in 23 international fixtures.

Brown will be reunited at the 2016 ISL runners-up with his former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen.
