AIFF condoles untimely demise of Mohammedan Sporting’s Sultan Ahmed

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) condole the untimely demise of Mohammedan Sporting Club Honorary President Sultan Ahmed who passed away having suffered a cardiac arrest in Kolkata today (September 4, 2017).

Sultan Ahmed was the General Secretary of Mohammedan Sporting Club from 2002 to 2009 before becoming the Member of Parliament. Since then, the astute Football Administrator served the club as the Honorary President until the day he passed away.

“On behalf of Mr. Praful M. Patel, President, AIFF and all staff of AIFF we extend our heartfelt condolences to all members of the bereaved family on this irreparable loss and we pray to God to give peace to the departed soul”, Kushal Das, General Secretary, AIFF shared the grief with the bereaved family members.

“Mr. Ahmed was amongst the very few Football Administrators who had a sound knowledge of the game. His demise is not only Mohammedan Sporting Club’s loss but the entire Indian Football fraternity’s”, Sunando Dhar lamented.

He further added, “We were scheduled to meet the FIFA and AFC officials on September 14, 2017 to discuss the future roadmap of Indian Football. We are going to miss his invaluable inputs during the meeting.”
