FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 – Matchday 4 – Round-up

The United States claimed their second win of the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 on Monday as Ayo Akinola scored the lone goal in their 1-0 win against Ghana in a Group A encounter at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.

Hosts India scored their first ever goal in a FIFA World Cup, but the goal and a spirited performance were not enough to deny Colombia a 2-1 win. Jeakson Thounaojam scored India’s historic goal, while Juan Penaloza’s brace secured the South Americans a vital win.

Meanwhile Mali impressed with a 3-0 win against Turkey in a Group B match at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, while Paraguay got past New Zealand 4-2 in the second game in the group.
