Mohammedan Sporting clinch inaugural Sultan Ahmed Memorial U-14 Championship

Mohammedan Sporting Club beat the clubs Youth Development Project XI 4-3 in the final to crown themselves champions in the inaugural Sultan Ahmed Memorial U-14 Football Championship at the Mohammedan Sporting ground. The match had ended goalless after regulation time.

The Young Panthers beat Bhawanipore Club 3-0 in the semifinals while YDP XI beat mighty Mohun Began on penalties after a hard fought 2-2 draw.

Former India captain and Mohammedan Sporting legend Prasun Banerjee and Sajda Ahmed graced the occasion as chef guests.

In between semifinals and final an exhibition match for the Lt. Ibrahim Mollah Trophy was played between the Calcutta Sports Journalists Club XI and Press Photographers XI, which the CSJC XI won the match.
