Special committee meeting held by AIFF in Mumbai

A special committee meeting was convened in Mumbai at The Lalit hotel on 7th June 2018, to discuss about the new norms of AIFF Age Verification Policy. The meeting was attended by Chairman of AIFF Medical Committee Dr. Vece Paes, Chairman of AIFF Disciplinary Committee Mr. Ushanath Banerjee. Mr. Sunando Dhar, CEO I-League and Mr. Kishore Taid, COO AIFF also attended the meeting alongwith officials from FSDL. The members discussed about measures to curb age fraud in various Age group competitions of AIFF.

Dr. Paes suggested to implement best practices of the sports industry i.e age verification on the basis of TW 3 (Tanner-Whitehouse) method, to which the members agreed to, unanimously.

The members unanimously decided to draft a new Age Verification Plan for various AIFF age group competitons, based on the TW 3 method, to be implememted from the 2018-19 season and suggested to form a new sub committee which’ll purely be responsible to look into the matters of Age Verification.
