Amateur clubs look forward to welcome Bundesliga sides in DFB-Pokal Round 1

The draw for the first round of the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) 2018/19 was held yesterday night with the draw carried out by DFB president Reinhard Grindel and tv star Palina Rojinski at the Deutsche Fußballmuseum (German Football Museum) in Dortmund. The draw was broadcasted live by German national tv channel ARD in their live show Sportschau Club hosted by Julia Scharf.

Defending champions Eintracht Frankfurt travel to 5th division side SSV Ulm, while record champions Bayern Munich have to travel to the north to Regionalliga (4th division) side SV Drochtersen/Assel.

The matches would be played from Friday to Monday, August 17 to 20 across the country with the amateur clubs looking to welcome their more established opponents.
