Striker Lalawmpuia joins Pathachakra FC for Calcutta Football League

Calcutta Football League – Premier Division ‘A’ side Pathachakra FC have announced the signing of former India youth international Pachau Lalawmpuia.

Once one of the most talented young strikers in Indian football, Mizorm-born Lalawmpuia is a youth product of the famed Tata Football Academy. At youth level, Lalawmpuia was a regular for the India youth teams at U-16 to U-19 level.

He started his professional career with Mohun Bagan AC, also making an impact as a young striker but he started to fade thereafter due to off field problems, but still went on to play for Mumbai FC, South United FC, then in the Calcutta Football League and Mizoram Premier League while also spending some time off the game.

Pathachakra FC in a statement said, “We have signed a completely Changed ‘Lalawmpuia’. He will be our ‘Mission Impossible’ this year. He is working hard on his fitness for last one month and most importantly left all his bad habits. A fantastic talent now becomes a responsible father. ‘PUIA’ is back.”

One can only hope that Lalawmpuia is a changed footballer and can finally show all his real talent.
