The All India Football Federation (AIFF) condoles the untimely demise of Ms. Mansi Vakharia who breathed her last in Ahmedabad on Sunday (July 22, 2018). She was 18.

Mansi was one of the promising young woman footballers of the country who had represented India in the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2015 Qualifiers in Dhaka.

The talented midfielder was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) more than a week ago.

AIFF General Secretary Kushal Das in his statement said: “We are shocked to hear about this tragic news. She was a promising footballer and came across as a humble human being. We pray for her departed soul and may God give her family the strength to overcome the loss. We share the grief.”

Mansi was touted to be one of the brightest football talents of Gujarat and had represented the state in all the age categories.
