FC Bayern go down to Juventus in ICC match in Philadelphia

Bundesliga giants FC Bayern München suffered a 0-2 defeat against Juventus in an International Champions Cup (ICC) encounter at Lincoln Memorial Field in Philadelphia.

The Italians took the lead against the run of play, when Andrea Favilli slotted home from ten yards in the 32nd minute. Favilli doubled the lead eight minutes later to register his second goal of the game.

Bayern head coach Niko Kovac brought on new players in the second half and the team led by Arjen Robben created numerous chances, but they were denied by Juventus goalkeeper Mattia Perin and his substitute Carlo Pinsoglio.

Juventus kept the clean sheet to secure a 2-0 win. The “I Bianconeri” will face SL Benfica in their next ICC match in Harrison on July 28, while Bayern continue their campaign in Miami against Manchester City on July 29.

A total of 18 teams take part in the 2018 International Champions Cup and each team play three matches in multiple venues across North America, Europe and Singapore.
