Back to back victories for Mizoram Police in LG Independence Cup

Mizoram Police FC overcame First Division opposition Kanan FC this afternoon in the LG Independence Cup in a 2-1 victory at the AR Lammual in Aizawl.

A spot kick from R. Malsawmtluanga and a second half finish from V. Laltanpuia ensured consecutive three points for the Police side.

Kanan FC scored late on through a special goal from Lalhriatpuia but could not find an equaliser before time. They will rue their missed chances in the first half as Isaac Lalnunpuia forced Mizoram Police FC keeper Muanawma to make a save while Lalhmingchhuanga also came very close.

Mizoram Police for their part, controlled proceedings for a majority of the match although they were also guilty of some wayward finishing.

The Police team will now face defending champions Chhinga Veng FC on Friday evening after Kanan FC entertain Jamshedpur FC Reserves in the afternoon.
