CS Herediano and FC Motagua to battle for the Scotiabank Concacaf League title

The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) today confirmed the matchup and kick off times for the Gran Final of the 2018 Scotiabank Concacaf League.

Semifinal action culminated on Thursday night in Tegucigalpa, where FC Motagua joined CS Herediano for the two-leg final. The Honduran and Costa Rican clubs advanced to the fourth and final round of the competition by overcoming Tauro FC 3-2, and Deportivo Arabe Unido 2-1 on aggregate, respectively.

Per the competition regulations, FC Motagua (5-0-1, 15 points) will host the decisive second leg final, after accumulating the most points through the round of 16, quarterfinals and semifinals. CS Herediano finished with a six-match record of 4-0-2, good for 12 points.

The first leg of the final will take place Thursday, October 25 at 10:00 pm ET, when CS Herediano hosts FC Motagua at the Estadio Eladio Rosabal Cordero in Heredia, Costa Rica.

The decisive second leg of the final will take place Thursday, November 1 at the Estadio Tiburcio Carías Andino in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The match is scheduled to kick off at 10:00 pm ET.

Fans will be able to follow all the action through the Confederations rights partner networks, including Univision Deportes in the United States, Flow Sports in the Caribbean and Fox Sports in Mexico and Latin America. For other territories, the games will be available on Concacaf GO.

The 2018 Scotiabank Concacaf League champion will earn a ticket to the 2019 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League, joining clubs that have qualified from across the region. In total, the expanded Concacaf club competitions platform – including the 2018 Scotiabank Concacaf League and the 2019 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League – will feature 31 clubs from across the Confederation.
