VfL Bochum and Indian origin head coach Robin Dutt agree contract extension

VfL Bochum and their Indian origin head coach Robin Dutt have reached an agreement to continue their successful association. Dutt has signed a contract extension which will keep him at the Bundesliga 2 side until June 30, 2020.

Sebastian Schindzielorz, CEO – Sports, VfL Bochum said: “Robin Dutt took over the team in a very difficult period and he has managed to get them back on track with his experience, composure and professional competence. No other Bundesliga 2 team has collected so many points in 2018. The credit mainly belongs to Robin Dutt, but also his coaching staff, which harmonise well with him. The 21 points in the first eleven home games is an evidence of our home superiority which we regained under his guidance. VfL has a clear match philosophy, the team remains firm. He has also managed to create a pleasant working atmosphere off the field because of his communicative and analytical nature.”

Robin Dutt took over the reigns at VfL Bochum on February 12, 2018, when the club faced major problems and ranked 14th in the league. He managed to regain stability and confidence within the club and took them to 6th spot in the final table of the 2017/18 season.

Talkin about his contract extension, Dutt told: “I’m pleased to experience the trust in me. VfL and the city of Bochum match my temper. I enjoy the daily work with my staff and players a lot. I conceive Sebastian Schindzielorz and Ilja Kaenzig as competent CEO’s, who I will support with all my energy to establish the club as one of the Top 25 clubs in Germany.”

I would like to congratulate Robin on his contract extension and I hope he will be able to take the club to new heights!
