India remains 97th in latest FIFA World Ranking

The Indian national team has retained its spot in the latest FIFA World Ranking as the governing body of world football realeased the October edition today.

India is ranked 97th in the world (15th in Asia) with 1245 points. Stephen Constantine’s team is ranked just one spot behind 2022 FIFA World Cup hosts Qatar (1248 points) and one spot ahead of Estonia.

Meanwhile, Belgium have replaced World Champions France (1732 points) at the top of the FIFA World Ranking. The “Red Devils” joined France in becoming the FIFA World Ranking’s first-ever joint leaders last month and they are now in sole possession of the top spot with 1733 points.

Brazil (1669 points), Croatia (1635 points) and England (1619 points complete the Top 5 of the latest FIFA World Ranking. 2014 FIFA World Cup winners Germany dropped two spots to be placed 14th, after losing their their UEFA Nations League matches in the Netherlands and France.

Gibraltar recorded the biggest move by ranks after their first-ever competitive wins against Armenia and Lichtenstein. The tiny nation moved up eight spots to capture the 190th rank.
