WIFA Women's Championship

PIFA Women fine form take them to the top of their Group

PIFA Women’s Team has climbed to the top of the table in Group A of the WIFA Women’s State Championship with three wins.

The WIFA Women’s Championship is being held at the Cooperage Stadium with ten teams from across Maharashtra participating in this tournament with them being divided into two groups. The winner of the tournament will qualify to play the Indian Women’s League (IWL) on a national level, which is the premier club tournament for women in India.

PIFA beat FC Mumbaikars 1-0 with a goal by Pratima Mukhia very early in the match.

The team on the back of winning the BWFA Women’s League earlier had beaten Bombay Gymkhana 11-0 and United Poona Soccer Academy 7-0. They now have to play Future Stars, the result of which will not alter their table standing.
