Women’s Bundesliga – Match Higlights: SGS Essen 5-0 Bayer 04 Leverkusen

SGS Essen registered a convincing 5-0 win against Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Matchday 11 of the Women’s Bundesliga (Allianz Frauen-Bundesliga) yesterday evening.

17 year old midfielder Lena Sophie Oberdorf opened the score sheet for the home side in the 33rd minute and then doubled the lead seconds into the second half.

Germany international Lea Schüller further increased the margin in the 58th minute with her eight goal of the ongoing 2018/19 Women’s Bundesliga season.

Marina Hegering (73rd) and Sarah Freutel (74′) put the final nails on the coffin to secure SGS Essen a 5-0 win at their very own Stadion Essen.

Essen is now placed fourth in the league table with 21 points from 11 games. VfL Wolfsburg remain at the top of the table with 31 points, ahead of FC Bayern Munich (26 points) and 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam (23 points).

The Women’s Bundesliga will continue with Matchday 12 this Sunday.
