Salgaocar FC Legends win big in special end-of-the-year exhibition match

Salgaocar FC Legends beat Navelim Veterans 5-1 in a special end-of-the-year Exhibition match played at the Rosary Grounds in Navelim on Monday, December 31, 2018.

With major possession of the ball, Gasper Crasto opened the account for Salgaocars, however the score was leveled by Climax Lawrence for Navelim Vetrans just before half-time.

Other goals for Salgaocar were scored by Vishant Pednecar, Robert Fernandes, Alex Ambrose and Alvito D’Cunha.

Navelim Veterans consisted of famed footballers Orlando Viegas, Frank Fernandes, Avertano Furtado, Sukhdev Arwade, Dennis Cabral, Anthony Pereira, Fr. Emerick, Climax Lawrence, Covan Lawrence and others.

Fr. Aquilio Gomes was the main guest on the ocassion, while Schubert Furtado was a special invitee.

Salgaocar Legends were captained by Gasper Crasto while Avertano Furtado took the captain’s band for Navelim Veterans.

A number of enthusiastic spectators witnessed the game and Gasper Crasto compered the prize distribution presentation. The event also saw Gasper’s book ‘A Rose is Not Just a Rose’ being released at the hands of Savio Madeira.
