VfL Wolfsburg and SC Freiburg all set for German Women’s Cup final

The final of the German Women’s Cup (DFB-Pokal der Frauen) will take place at the RheinEnergieSTADION in Cologne tomorrow, as defending champions VfL Wolfsburg take on Women’s Bundesliga rivals SC Freiburg.

Freiburg have advanced to the final for the very first time in the history of the competition, while top favourites Wolfburg aim to win their sixth cup title.

Germany legends and former Women’s national team coach Horst Hrubesch will present the Women’s DFB-Pokal trophy at the pre-match ceremony, while German president Frank-Walter Steinmeier has announced that he would also attend the game. Steinmeier will hand over the trophy to the 2018/19 cup winners.

Various high profile represenatives from the world of football and showbiz have already confirmed their attendence at the final in Cologne. The eventful day will start at 11.11 CET with various youth football tournaments and accompanying programme such live music, autograph sessions, fun games for kids and parents, besides many other side events around the stadium.

The VfL Wolfsburg vs SC Freiburg match is scheduled to kick-off at 17.15 CET and it will broadcasted live on German national television channel ARD.
