Germany’s inernationally renowned grass-court tennis tournament has announced a new tournament sponsor with immediate effect. The Gerry Weber Open in Halle/Westfalen will be rechristened to Noventi Open, as the tournament commences it 27th edition on Saturday, June 15.

NOVENTI, a Munich-based health care company, replaces fashion manufacturer and retailer Gerry Weber who started the tournament in their home base of Halle/Westfalen back in 1993. Gerry Weber and the Weber family were always the masterminds behind the tournament and they were closely involved since the beginning.

The independent Gerry Weber Management & Event GmbH & Co. OHG has now decided to part ways with the fashion manufacturer and retailer to secure the future of the ATP 500 tournament as Gerry Weber filed for insolvency under its own management a few weeks ago.

The Noventi Open 2019 will take place from June 15 to 23, 2019 and Ralf Weber will remain the tournament director.
