Newcomers U Mumba FC of Mumbai postpone trials

Mumbai-based newcomers U Mumba FC have announced that they have postponed their trials for their senior team which was supposed to be held next week.

U Mumbaa FC in an official statement said, “Senior officials of the Football Federation have asked U Mumba FC to hold on to the trials for the time being.”

“We’ll update all aspirants soon,” the statement ended.

Interestingly it is not made clear if it was the national body AIFF or the state body WIFA, who made the recommendation to postpone the trials.

The U Sports owned U Mumba FC was founded in December 2018 and participated in the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) organised Mumbai Elite Division in the 2018/19 season. Now they aim to become an I-League club for which they signed former India midfielder Steven Dias as their assistant coach.

The U Mumba FC trials would have been held from Tuesday to Saturday, June 18 to 22.
