AIFF Executive Committee meeting postponed from July 3 to July 9

The much expected next AIFF Executive Committee meeting originally scheduled for Wednesday, July 3 has been postponed to Tuesday, July 9.

This was confirmed by the AIFF senior Vice-President Subrata Dutta to the media without any reason given for the postponement.

The upcoming AIFF ExCo had received a lot of interest as it was expected that the AIFF would decide in the meeting if the Indian Super League would be made the top tier of Indian club football while the I-League would then drop down to be the second tier of Indian club football.

There has been massive protest amongst the I-League clubs and their fans against the expected decision with the threat of going to court being in the room.

Now with the ExCo postponed by six days, there is news that the AIFF president Praful Patel was willing to meet the I-League clubs after an original meeting not having happened a few months ago.
