Minerva Punjab FC and RoundGlass Sports announce 50/50 merger

Punjab-based sports companies RoundGlass Sports Private Ltd and Punjab FC Private Ltd, promoters of the I-League team Minerva Punjab FC have announced a 50/50 merger between the two entities, effective July 30, 2019. RoundGlass Sports is an organization dedicated to grassroots development in football with the ultimate aim to create world-class national level players. Minerva Punjab FC is a top tier professional football club with a proven track record of having fielded both junior and senior teams successfully, in the I-League.

With this merger, RoundGlass Sports will have access to players from Minerva Punjab FC’s Under-18 to U-11 teams; thereby expanding their grassroots football talent program substantially. Minerva Punjab FC will continue to manage and operate the senior club side. The merger between the two entities will ensure an even stronger presence of football in Punjab.

Confirming the development RoundGlass CEO Gurpreet (Sunny) Singh said, “Minerva Punjab FC have proven results for their U-18 programs; so, I’m excited to say the least. We now have access to approximately 120 children across all ages who are a step closer to be being inducted into our world-class football academy; through our talent program. In keeping with our vision, our only aim is to ensure that we offer these children a genuine opportunity to perform on the global stage. We look forward to that.”

Minerva Punjab FC CEO Ranjit Bajaj said, “This is a match made in heaven. I could not be happier. I personally believe that RoundGlass Sports is a saviour for the future of Indian football. With this merger our kids will have access to the globally recognized coaching staff and facilities.”
