German Football Academy successfully hosts first school football tournament

The German Football Academy – India hosted its first-ever school football tournament for boys and girls in Kolkata at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan ground over the weekend of August 24/25.

The boys competition was contested by eight school teams with Hariyana Vidya Mandir defeating St. Augustine Day School through a last minute goal in the final. Adrit Roy of Hariyana Vidya Mandir was named player of the tournament.

The girls competition was contested by six teams with Frank Anthony Public School defeating South City International School in the final, but Kamille Carvalho of South City International School was named player of tournament.

The group stage was played on Saturday, while the knockouts was held on Sunday.
