Germany WNT star Almuth Schult to carry out DFB-Pokal semifinal draw

Germany Women’s national team star Almuth Schult will carry out the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) semifinal draw on Sunday (March 8) at the Deutsches Fußballmuseum (German Football Museum).

The 2013 UEFA Women’s EURO and 2016 Olympic champion will be joined by Peter Frymuth, Vice President, DFB Deutscher Fußball-Bund (German FA) who will be acting as the supervisor of the proceedings.

The semifinal draw will feature the four winners of the quarterfinal matches scheduled to take place today and tomorrow:
1. FC Saarbrücken vs Fortuna Düsseldorf
FC Schalke 04 vs FC Bayern Munich
Bayer 04 Leverkusen vs 1. FC Union Berlin
Eintracht Frankfurt vs SV Werder Bremen

The semifinal matches will be played on April 21 and 22. Regionalliga (4th Division) side 1. FC Saarbrücken would be automatically handed a home game according to the tournament regulations, if they manage to advance to the last four.

The semifinal draw will be broadcasted live by German national television channel ARD as part of the Sportschau programme. Julia Scharf be the host of the television broadcast.
