Dynamo Dresden to miss Bundesliga 2 restart due to new COVID-19 infections

SG Dynamo Dresden have informed that two players have been tested positive for COVID-19 during another round testing on Friday, May 8. The Bundesliga 2 side has decided to put all their players and staff into a 14-day quarantine.

Dynamo Dresden have informed the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga, that the club would miss the Bundesliga 2 restart next weekend.

“We have put a lot of effort personnel-wise and logistically to strictly implement all mandatory medical and hygienicäc measures in the past few weeks,” said Ralf Minge, Managing Director, Dynamo Dresden. “We are in correspondence with the public health department and DFL to coordinate the next steps.”

“Fact is that we can’t train or compete in the next 14 days,” Minge added.

Dynamo Dresden was scheduled to take on Hannover 96 in an away game on May 17.
