New Zealand to represent Oceania in FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup

The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) has decided to cancel the OFC U-17 Women’s Championship 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The tournament was originally scheduled to take place in Tahiti in December 2019, but was postponed due to the measles epidemic in the Pacific region. It was then rescheduled to April, but it was further postponed when OFC put all of their football activities on hold due to coronavirus.

Therefore, the OFC Executive Committee has decided to cancel the tournament and to nominate New Zealand as Oceania’s representative for next year’s FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India.
