Arminia Bielefeld announce the signing of Nathan de Medina

DSC Arminia Bielefeld have announced another signing for the 2020-21 season. The newly promoted Bundesliga side have secured the services of Nathan de Medina from Belgian club Royal Excel Mouscron.

The 22-year-old central defender joins Bielefeld on a free transfer and he has signed a three-year contract until June 30, 2023.

“Nathan has enjoyed an excellent training at RSC Anderlecht, besides leaving a mark in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League and the UEFA Youth League,” said Samir Arabi, Managing Director (Sports), DSC Arminia Bielefeld. “We are delighted about his identification with our future roadmap at DSC Arminia Bielefeld and his decision to join us.

Head coach Uwe Neuhaus said: “Nathan is an athletic and ball-winning player who can play different positions. Nathan is set to play as a right back to enhance our game play with his attacking runs.”

“I’ve watched many Arminia Bielefeld matches and I love the club, the familial atmosphere and the support at the SchücoArena. And I love the Bundesliga. It’s dream coming true for me to play there with Arminia,” said Nathan de Medina. “I’m learning German with my teacher every single day and I already understand a lot. I’m going to live and play football outside Belgium for the very first time. I really look forward to it.”

Nathan de Medina is a former Belgium youth international with several caps for the U-19 and U-21 national team.
