NorthEast United FC sign Belgian defender Benjamin Lambot

Indian Super League franchise NorthEast United FC have announced the signing of Belgian defender Benjamin Lambot ahead of the 2020/21 season.

33 year old Etterbeek-born Benjamin Lambot played for White Star Bruxelles and RWD Molenbeek in his youth before making his senior debut for AFC Tubize, where he would stay for eight seasons.

Thereafter he spend time on loan with Royal Excelsior Virton before playing for Royal Antwerp and Lierse SK. Thereafter he played for Azerbaijan Premier League side Simurq PFC before returning to Belgium to play for Cercle Brügge for four seasons.

Last season, Benjamin Lambot played for Cypriot side Nea Salamis Famagusta FC and now moves to India to play in the ISL.

Benjamin Lambot said, “I am really happy to be a Highlander and looking forward to the Hero Indian Super League experience. I can’t wait to get started with the team.”
